Test Methodologies and Processes
Ocean Blue offers a range of professional engineering services to assist with the integration and support of software components into client’s consumer electronic digital TV products including:
• Full testing service
• Accreditation processes
• Test methodologies
• DTG MHEG test suites
• Sample broadcast streams for different broadcast platforms and countries.
The most important aspect is that we offer personal on-site engineering support in our test labs with clients before, during and after the testing and accreditation process.
Product Testing and Compliance
There are many industry standards that must be met in order to bring consumer electronics products to market successfully. Ocean Blue Software has invested in test equipment and software that allows us to test the compliance of a product to a range of industry standards, most notably the DVB and DTG specifications.
We continue to update our test facilities, equipment and software test suites in line with market demand. Product compliance to the DTG specifications allows the manufacturer to use the Freeview logos on products to maximise sales potential.
We provide DTG DVB and MHEG pre-testing for the following countries:
• UK
• Australia
• New Zealand
• Hong Kong
• South Africa
• Scandinavian Countries
Our test methodologies and conformance labs allow comprehensive testing of the software embedded in digital receivers. Clients are provided with unlimited access to our test labs.
Product Accreditation
Ocean Blue operates and provides a portfolio of in-house DVB & DTG test suites, OBS test methodologies and test processes for clients including for example:
• MHEG-5, DSM-CC SD and HD versions
• DVB-SI SD and HD versions
• Freeview+ PVR SD and HD versions
• CI+
• DVB-T2
• HbbTV
In addition to the pre-test support and validation, Ocean Blue can assist clients to achieve final product accreditation and gain all relevant industry standard product logos including the Digital Tick.
Pre and Repeat Testing Plus Engineering Support During Tests Phases
There is often no assistance in identifying or resolving issues after the issuing of final test results at a formal test centre. With our pre-test service, Ocean Blue clients can repeat the test procedures, use live or recorded streams and correct their software as many times as required. The service provides access to Ocean Blue engineering resources thus helping the client understand test requirements and resolve any technical issues / failures that may arise. The unique service allows customers to shorten their testing and certification process and provides a strong market advantage.

Software Support and Upgrades
All Ocean Blue software products are sold with the option to take out an annual maintenance contract. The Service Level Agreement provides our clients with access to technical support for any issues or queries, and entitles clients to receive software updates.
