NIT

"Network Information Table". The NIT is used to transmit technical information about the delivery network, which could be a satellite network, a cable network or a terrestrial network

NTSC

"National Television System Committee". Group formed to establish analogue television standards for USA (Now being replaced by ATSC)

NVOD

"Near Video On Demand". Systems that deliver programming at a time acceptable to the consumer, although not instantaneous, accomplished by repeating the same programs on several channels simultaneously at frequent intervals, e.g. every 15 or 30 minutes
