Voyager HD MHEG-5 software, including support for BBC i-player on to HD chipsets from RENESAS and Trident.

This is the latest in a series of co-operations that have resulted in Ocean Blue Software being available on successive generations of key set-top box chipsets.

The Trident PNX847x series of SoCs has an ARM Cortex A9 Processor, multi-format HD STB Decoders, with support for 3D graphics and advanced power management.

The Renesas EMMA3SL/P SoC is ideally suited to low cost HD and Hybrid zappers and has integrated Ethernet and USB2.0 ports.  Its capability for multi-format video enables users to play back standard video formats such as MPEG-2 and  H.264 HD as well as China’s AVS, DivX, WMV and  VC-1.  The SoC is available either as Free-to-Air (EMMA3SL) or with advanced security features (EMMA3SL/P) for Pay TV operators. The EMMA3SL(/P) device is available and in mass production from Renesas.

Porting the Ocean Blue range of software to this next generation of Media Processor SoCs will result in an ideal platform for Connected TV products. Ken Helps of Ocean Blue says, “This next generation of HD hardware in conjunction with Ocean Blue’s advanced middleware software will drive the future products   of connected TV consumer devices.”

Sunrise DVB and Voyager MHEG are compliant with DTG Freeview software standards and Ocean Blue also offers DVB and MHEG profiles for Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Hong Kong.
